Microsoft 365 & Business Email Setup

Business email on your own domain, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive, set up properly or moved across from your old provider without losing a message.

// Overview

Email and Files That Just Work

Plenty of Surrey businesses are still on email that came with their website hosting, a personal Gmail address, or a Microsoft 365 account someone set up years ago and nobody has the admin password for. It works until a mailbox fills up, a password leaks or a staff member leaves with the only copy of a client folder.

We set up Microsoft 365 (or Google Workspace, if that suits you better) on your own domain, move your existing email, calendars and contacts across, and set up Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive so files live in one place instead of on desktops. Multi-factor authentication goes on every account from day one.

Migrations run over a weekend wherever possible. On Monday morning, staff open Outlook and their mail is there.

Call 604-359-5284 and tell us what you use for email today. We’ll explain the move in plain English.

What We Set Up

Business email

Mailboxes on your domain, shared mailboxes like info@ and accounts@, aliases and email signatures.

Email migrations

From GoDaddy, hosting providers, Gmail, Exchange servers or another Microsoft 365 tenant, with mail, calendars and contacts.

Domain & DNS records

MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC set correctly so your mail arrives and nobody can easily spoof your domain.

Teams, SharePoint & OneDrive

Team sites with sensible permissions, files moved off desktops and old servers, sync set up on every computer.

Security basics

Multi-factor authentication, admin accounts separated from daily use, and sign-in alerts switched on.

Licensing

The right Microsoft 365 plan for each role, so nobody pays for features they don’t use.

How an Email Move Runs

  1. Week 1

    Copy in the background

    Mailboxes, calendars and contacts copied to Microsoft 365 while you keep working.

  2. Fri 5pm

    Switch the domain

    MX and related DNS records pointed at Microsoft 365. New mail starts arriving there.

  3. Sat

    Final sync

    Anything that arrived during the switch is copied across. Outlook profiles prepared.

  4. Mon 8am

    Everyone signs in

    Mail is there. A technician is available all morning for phones and stragglers.

// DNS records

The Records That Get Your Mail Delivered

RecordWhat it does
MXTells the internet which servers receive mail for your domain
SPFLists the services allowed to send mail as your domain
DKIMSigns outgoing mail so receivers can tell it really came from you
DMARCTells receivers what to do with mail that fails those checks, and sends you reports

Missing or wrong records are the usual reason business email lands in junk folders.

// FAQ

Microsoft 365 & Email Questions

How much does a Microsoft 365 migration cost?

Typically $75–$175 per mailbox, depending on how much mail there is and where it’s coming from. Microsoft licences are billed separately at Microsoft’s published price.

Will we lose any email during the move?

No. We copy everything across before switching your domain over, then run a final sync after the switch so anything that arrived in between is picked up.

Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace?

Both work well. Microsoft 365 suits offices that live in Word, Excel and Outlook or share files with clients who do. Google Workspace suits teams that already work in the browser. We set up either.

Is Microsoft 365 backed up automatically?

Not in the way most people assume. Deleted items are kept for a limited time and then purged. If losing email or files would hurt, add a separate Microsoft 365 backup. See our backup service.
