IT Support FAQ

What IT support is, what it costs, how fast we respond and how we work, answered plainly.

Common Questions From Surrey Businesses

What does IT support actually do?

IT support keeps a business’s technology working: fixing problems with computers, email, Wi-Fi, printers and software, setting up new equipment and staff, and installing things like networks, phone systems and backups. Some businesses call when something breaks; others pay a monthly fee for ongoing support.

How much does IT support cost in Surrey?

Typical Surrey rates are $100–$150 an hour for remote support and $125–$185 an hour onsite, with a one-hour minimum for visits. Prepaid blocks of hours usually save 10–15%, and ongoing monthly plans run $95–$250 per user. Our cost guide breaks it down.

Do I need a contract or monthly plan?

No. You can book a single job and pay for that job. If you find you need us often, we’ll show you whether block hours or a monthly plan would cost less, and you decide.

How quickly can you help?

Most requests are picked up the same business day, and many problems are fixed remotely during the first call. Onsite visits across Surrey are usually booked for the same or next business day, depending on the job.

Do you offer 24/7 IT support?

No. We work Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and we’d rather say so than promise round-the-clock cover we don’t provide. Installs, upgrades and moves can be scheduled for evenings and weekends in advance.

Do you come onsite?

Yes. Technicians visit offices, clinics, shops and warehouses across Surrey and nearby cities including White Rock, Delta, Langley, New Westminster, Burnaby, Coquitlam and Abbotsford. Most problems are faster to fix remotely, so we start there when we can.

Do you fix home computers or phones?

No. We only support businesses. That keeps our technicians focused on business systems such as Microsoft 365, networks, shared data and phone systems.

What is an IT support service?

It’s a business arrangement for getting IT help when you need it. With us that can be one job (a fix, an install or a setup), a prepaid block of hours you draw down, or an ongoing monthly plan that covers support for every user.

Can you set up a whole new office?

Yes. Internet, cabling, Wi-Fi, firewall, phones, computers, printers and Microsoft 365, planned in the right order so everything works on the first morning. Book early: business internet can take weeks to install.

Do you work with Macs?

Yes. Many Surrey offices run Windows and Mac side by side, and we support both for email, files, printers and security.

What if you can’t fix it?

We tell you plainly, explain what we found, and point you to the right specialist, such as a software vendor or a data-recovery lab. You don’t pay for time we can’t justify.

Is Windows 10 still safe to use?

Windows 10 support ended on 14 October 2025. Business PCs can buy Extended Security Updates for up to three years, but the free consumer option doesn’t cover PCs managed by a business. Read our Windows 10 guide for the options.

How does remote support work?

You approve a secure session, we see your screen and fix the problem while you watch, and the session ends when we’re done. Nothing stays installed that gives us standing access unless you choose ongoing support.

Who will I deal with?

A technician from our Surrey team handles your job from start to finish, and every visit ends with a written summary. Specialist work, like large cabling jobs, may involve vetted local partners; you’ll know before it starts.
